Michael Heupel, born 1988 in Athens, is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician currently based in Hamburg. He has performed in important music halls all around the world and has won prizes in international competitions.
His studies with Prof. Tilmann Wick (Hannover) and Prof. Arto Noras (Hamburg), as well as master classes with eminent teachers and artists like David Geringas, Bernard Greenhouse, Julius Berger and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt have helped him form and develop his artistic personality.
He is holder of scholarships from the Onassis Foundation, the Alfred Toepfer Foundation and the HfMT Hamburg.
He performs on a cello built in 1723 by David Tecchler in Rome.
